Evaluates post content using Gemini AI.

This add-on is identical to Gemini post alert add-on. For example this add-on can be used for testing purposes without effecting the Gemini post alert add-on.

Features:
All phrases start with geminipostalert_ for your convenience.

How it works:

Every 10 minutes a cron entry runs and checks recent posts. These recent posts will be sent to Gemini AI for evaluation. If Gemini AI returns a Yes to the instructions provided in the options page, an alert is created. The alert can be an email or a thread created.

Example instructions:

Does the preceding content contain any hate speech, harassment, or sexually explicit material? Answer yes or no. Explain how you determined a yes answer.


Setup step 1:

Go to Google AI studio and click the Get API link.

Once you get your API key, you will also need to provide a credit card so that Google can charge you for usage. Don't worry it is very inexpensive, average cost per explanation is a small fraction of 1 cent.

Setup step 2:

In the options page:

Enter the 'API key' from the Gemini API key given to you in step 1.

Enter the 'Instructions' into the options page. See Example instructions above.

Select to have an email sent to you or have a thread created in a specified forum.

Q: When are messages sent to Gemini for evaluation?
A: There is a cron entry which runs every 10 minutes, those messages created in the last 10 minutes will be sent to Gemini.

Q: I'm using the Test post ID option, will that post always be sent to Gemini when the cron runs?
A: Yes. You can enter a Test post ID and run the cron entry manually to test.

Q: Which Gemini API model is used?
A: Flash 2.5 lite.

Q: Are messages sent to Gemini API kept private?
A: Yes.

Q: Can the instruction ask to ignore a particular forum?
A: Yes. You can either exclude the forum in the options page, or give specific instructions to ignore if the post is in a particular forum. The forum title is passed to Gemini AI.

Q: Is the Destination forum automatically excluded from Gemini AI evaluation?
A: Yes.
